Which life cycle stages were included in the carbon footprint calculation used for the former ClimatePartner certification?

The product carbon footprint used for the former ClimatePartner certification was based on the following product life cycle: cradle-to-customer plus end-of life

Product Life Cycle Emissions Scope

The following emissions were accounted for across the life cycle stages of the product. These stages align with a cradle-to-gate-with-options scope, covering upstream (A1–A3) and downstream (C) life cycle stages as defined in ISO 14040/14044 and EN 15804+A2:

  1. Raw material supply: Extraction and pre-processing of raw materials and packaging (A1) 

  2. Transport: Transportation from supplier to manufacturer (A2) 

  3. Manufacturing: Production of the final product (A3) 

     

  4. Transport: Delivery of the product to the first customer (A4) 

     

  5. End-of life stage: Disposal processes for the product and its packaging (C)

Stages not included in this assessment, such as the use phase, transport between customers and reuse, fell outside the defined system boundary.

The ClimatePartner certification period has ended. This information remains available for historical reference for straight eco+ frames covered by the former certification.
