Rendering

Inventor has a basic render engine that enables you to make quick renders from you final design. The quality of these renders depends greatly on:

  • The materials and appearances that you use
  • The amount of time given to the render engine to produce a result
  • The level of detail in custom made or imported parts.

To enable the rendering environment, startup Inventor Studio from the Environments tab.

You can manage the studio lighting styles to suit your lighting and shadow settings.

You can create camera’s with options for perspective or orthographic view mode, as well as depth of field and position of camera and target.

In the render settings you can choose the resolution, which view to render, and how long you want the render to run.

Keep in mind that increasing these settings will result in much longer rendering times.

Please keep in mind that for more advanced renders we highly recommend using more dedicated software such as 3dsMax (included in the Autodesk Production Suite).
